LAVENDER SUGAR 6 cups sugar 6 tablespoons dried culinary lavender buds Grind the lavender buds or chop with a sharp knife. Combine with sugar. Store in airtight jars. Ready to use after 4 weeks. Use lavender sugar in lemonade, with coffee, hot chocolate, or in cookie recipes.
CHICKEN WITH CINNAMON AND LAVENDER
2 chicken breasts, sliced 2 tablespoons butter 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon culinary lavender buds chopped finely 1 tablespoon honey pinch of cayenne pepper 1/2 cup broth
Melt butter in a heavy skillet, add the meat and saute till browned on both sides. Remove from skillet. Add cinnamon, lavender, honey, cayenne and salt to the skillet, stir for 30 seconds, add the broth and combine well. Return the meat to the skillet, cover and simmer 3 minutes. Serve with sour cream and guacamole, rice, beans and tortillas.
BAKED BEANS WITH RAISINS AND LAVENDER
One 15 oz can of beans, such as Bush's® 2 sour apples, cored cubed 1/2 cup raisins 2 TBS brown sugar 2 TBS vinegar 1 teaspoon. culinary lavender buds salt, pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients, transfer to a baking dish. Bake at 350F for 1 hour
