Just Peppermint Tea
Naturally grown Peppermint fresh from my garden to your tea cup for a delicious tea.
Peppermint is actually a cultivated plant which was derived from water mint and spearmint (perhaps by accident) in the mid-1700s.
Peppermint is commonly used to sooth gastrointestinal tract by relaxing the muscles in the intestinal wall. It increases the saliva, which increases swallowing making it possible to improve appetite, relieve cramps, and reduce pain associated with conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, nausea, or motion sickness. Peppermint has also been used to reduce muscle spasms associated with endoscopy, colonoscopy and barium enemas.
Peppermint is well known for its ability to suppress symptoms of indigestion but should not be taken by those with GERD or Hiatal Hernia.
Peppermint oil is known to ease headache pain and pressure when applied across the forehead and temples.
For digestion concerns, this tea may be taken as 3-4 cups per day between meals.
A great summertime beverage on ice or a relaxing wintertime favorite with a candy cane garnish.
Tea is safe to consume during pregnancy , with children and has no known side effects when taken with conventional medications. Tea has worked very well with those taking heart burn and/or acid reflux medications due to its cooling nature.
