Sundew Gardens

My family has lived on our 5 acre Florida homestead, Sundew Gardens, since 1983. Our piece of land is located near the city of Oviedo and the University of Central Florida. As a way of life, I have always used natural products on my land (we use organic methods but do not pay for 3rd party certification). Our first project was to plant and grow a garden and have since raised our children on our homegrown food. We have marketed our produce through a number of various community venues, such as farmer's markets, retail grocery stores, restaurants, and online. Our flagship operation is our CSA membership program we call "Harvest Gardening". Families harvest what they choose (not required to take a monthly pre-picked share) from our gardens in a subscription form of U-Pick. Free orientation tours are offered most Fridays and Saturdays at Noon. Our produce includes: eggs, vegetables, herbs, and fruit (citrus and blueberries). Educational experiences include: "Introduction to Sundew Gardening" workshop/tour, private consultation services, field trips for schools and organizations, classes on a wide spectrum of specialty subjects, seasonal 'Homesteading Apprenticeship', facebook page, and my bi-monthly newspaper column in the Seminole Voice. All visits by appointment, RSVP to 407-430-2178 or email, and please wear appropriate shoes (no open sandals). Hope to see you in the garden! Tom Carey/Sundew Gardens.
