Swainway Urban Farm grows organic, nutrient-dense foods year-round in sustainable urban spaces and expands awareness of traditional foodways.
We grow certified organic shiitake and oyster mushrooms and a variety of microgreens year-round in climate controlled indoor and outdoor facilities. We compliment our staple mushrooms and microgreens with innovative, season-extended field crops including organic baby ginger, celery root, greens, carrots, and lettuces. In the spring, we provide central Ohio gardeners with certified organic tomato, pepper, and herb seedlings including many Ark of Taste varieties.
Find our food at the Clintonville Farmer's Market, Worthington Farmer's Market, and Bexley Natural Market. We welcome wholesale, bulk, and special orders by chefs, restaurants, and home cooks. Visit our [link:http://www.swainway.com] website [/link] for more details about our retail locations and wholesale arrangements.
Though our farm is not open to the public, we are committed to educating people about organic agriculture and homesteading. The Swainway crew leads classes, workshops, and tours through City Folk's Ground Swell, the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association, and other central Ohio groups.
Swainway Urban Farm uses season extension, crop rotation, and intensive planting techniques to yield densely nutritious food from small spaces. We encourage everyone to develop a relationship with their food by gardening at home using sustainable practices. It's easy to love local vegetables when they are right outside your back door!

Joe Swain maximizes space and taste on his urban farm. He's also a great educator.
