Every summer here in Minnesota, the landscape is graced with beautiful Sumac. Resplendent with its beautiful reddish-pink clusters of berries, it bears little resemblance to the PoisonSumac usually found in swampy areas.
We harvest these berries and decoct a wonderful, light and citrusy juice that becomes our Sweet Sumac Syrup. With a unique and delicate flavor all its own, this syrup is as versatile as is our Wild Rose Syrup. It goes great with breakfast foods but is equally at home dressing up beans, quash and other mundane foods.
