(Liquidambar styraciflua)
The Sweetgum tree is a wonderful choice for your yard or the edge of your woods. The foliage is beautiful Spring through Fall -- the Sweetgum's star-shaped leaves are an attractive dark green, turning brilliant shades of crimson, yellow, red, and purple. It is perhaps the most spectacular color spectrum we see on any of our trees in Autumn.
The Sweetgum is fast-growing and quickly matures into a nice shade tree. You will also be doing the birds a favor if you plant these trees, as they love to eat the seeds!
