Sycamore Ridge farm is a small scale intensive vegetable and cut flower enterprise located approximately 11 miles north of Gettysburg. The current farmhouse and land is a remnant of one of the earliest settlements in the area. The soil is a rich organic clay-silt mix, and strewn with small rocks of numerous types, signaling that this was a glacier affected area. The variety of rocks likely enhance the presence of trace minerals on a continuous basis. Sycamore Ridge concentrates on variety, color and overall gourmet quality vegetables and small fruits. Harvesting at the petite stage is part of this offering. It is a part time operation with most work performed 'in-house'. Farmers' Market
Schedule and Location:
The Dillsburg, Pa. Farrmer's Market started in the 2010 season and was very sucessful. It is an outdoor event every Saturday from 7 AM until 12:00 noon. Last year the market included Sycamore Ridge Farm as well as four other local produce offerings. Other products for sale include homemade prepared foods, local baked goods, plants, flowers, local soap and candle products, local grass fed beef, free range eggs, local processed meats and dairy products.
