The Farm of Minnesota

The story of The Farm started with my maternal grandfather, who began farming this land outside of Hutchinson, Minnesota in 1945, and spent the next 40 years of his life raising livestock and crops here. In the late 1960's, I was blessed to spend a summer here with my grandfather, working this soil. It is here that I fell in love with farming, and in 2000, I was again called home to The Farm. We spent the next few years in small-scale trails and tests. In 2009, we ramped into the market with the introduction of a new Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, and organic certification was filed in 2014. We take a lot of pride in the fruits and vegetables we grow. A specialty crop we are very excited about is our plantings of Elderberrys..

In addition to the CSA program, which provides a weekly share of produce to our members, we also offer our crops at our roadside stand and expanded local markets in and around the greater Twin Cities area. Check out our web site for the markets that can be near you. 2009 was our first CSA season, as we move into 2014, we can now offer certified organic produce. We have added season extension buildings and have many new things to come and see.

Since we put this food on our table, you can have it on yours, 'cause. "If it's not good enough for us to eat, we won't make it available for you."

Come and enjoy The Farm with us!

The Farm provides in-season fresh fruits and vegetables. Our produce is available through CSA shares, at the farm, local coops, and at the local farmers markets. The Farm has applied for organic certification in 2014, and we're using today's knowledge with yesterday's passion to grow nutritious food for the community. We take great pride in the fruits and vegetables we grow. Since we put this food on our table... "if it's not good enough for us to eat, we won't make it available for you!"

I've known Dan Moe for a long time, and when he decided to open his CSA in 2009, I was excited to be a part of it. His passion to provide quality produce inspired me to try things I had never tried before, and actually enjoy them! The selection of fruits and vegetables was outstanding and beyond what I expected, and the entire program ran very smoothly for being in it's first year.... [more]
