The Farmer and the Cook is an all organic, vegetarian restaurant, store and bakery. Steve Sprinkel is The Farmer and his wife, Olivia Chase is The Cook. We do not cook meat or fish in the store and never have. We have adopted a vegan-friendly menu, featuring a salad bar and daily soups that are usually vegan. We feature Mexican food for lunch and dinner and on the weekends have pizza and farm specials seasonally planned and harvested. We operate a 13 acre CCOF-certified organic farm five minutes from the store. We have been in business in Ojai since 2000. We operate a CSA in Ojai. Shares in the CSA are $100 per month. Commitment is suggested but not required. Working on the farm is fun, not obligatory.
