The Historic McKinney Farmers' Market at Chestnut Square and Adriatica

McKinney, Texas
Farmers Market

The Historic McKinney Farmers' Market at Chestnut Square and Adriatica is located just south of the downtown McKinney Square at McDonald and Anthony Streets on Saturdays and in Adriatica at Virginia Parkway and Stonebridge on Thursdays. The market is open every Saturday and Thursday from early-April to early-October. Vendors from throughout North Texas set up on open space in the Chestnut Square Historic Village and in a parking lot at Adriatica. The market is managed by The Heritage Guild of Collin County, a 501c3 non-profit entity with a mission to "preserve and perpetuate the heritage of Collin County."

Nestled among shade trees and historic structures dating from 1850-1930, the Saturday market has the feel of an old-time market (the original McKinney Market known as the "Jockey Lot" opened in the late 1800's and was just down the street from the current market). On any given Saturday as many as 40 vendors are present offering certified organic produce, meats and eggs along with locally produced naturally grown vegetables and herbs. Over the course of the market, individual vendors are required to produce 60% of what they sell. On Thursdays, vendors set up in the parking lot at Adriatica on McKinney's west side. Adriatica is a picturesque re-creation of a Croatian village. 10-12 vendors set up each Thursday at Adriatica.

Entertainment is provideed on Saturdays on the porch of the Faires House, the oldest standing residential structure in McKinney, TX. Coffee, breakfast burritos, lemonade and original Dublin Dr. Pepper are available. Dixie's Store, a 1908 grocery store, is open during the market offering refreshments, old fashioned candy and toys and craft items.

Current vendors include: Rehoboth Ranch certified organic meats and eggs, Dominion Farms grass-fed meats and eggs, Oak Ridge Farms, Good Earth Organic certified organic produce, Sachse Farms produce, Local Family Farms produce, D-Bar Ranch produce, Texas Olive Ranch olive oils, Cita's Salsa, Luscmbe jellies, Village Baking company and more!

I have lived in McKinney for a long time and I go to the Farmer's Market on occasion to see what is new, but I am usually disappointed. Parking is ridiculous and those that hit/scrape/bump YOUR car seem to consider it part of the 'experience' and leave without a note or insurance info.... [more]

I fun activity for Saturday morning. The location is great under the trees and the produce and products are the best.

It's important to support local McKinnyians! Plus everything is so fresh and delicious!
