The Homestead's CSA farm offers a wide variety of seasonally available fresh fruits and vegetables to our members over the course of a twenty week growing season. The season generally runs mid May to early October. During the CSA season members are treated to many of their favorite garden staples such as green beans and tomatoes along with a smattering of not so common foods like leeks and kohlrabi. The eclectic mix of the familiar and the "out of the ordinary" gives members the opportunity to expand their experiences with fresh foods and to discover exiting new flavors. With the large mixture of crops being grown and the multiple varieties of each crop, anyone with an interest in fresh, locally grown foods will find much to love in our shares.

A single-share is designed to supplement fresh fruit and vegetable consumption for 1-2 person households. Other individuals who may find a single share useful are vegetarians or those who want to share their bounty with a friend. A double-share is designed to supplement the fruit and vegetable needs of a 3-4 person household. It may also be useful for those 1-2 person households that eat more veggies than most people or who concentrate on food preservation for longer term usage.

The Homestead is a living and learning center for Iowans with autism. The Homestead's farm provides meaningful opportunities for the people we serve to learn and grow while earning real wages by participating in the work necessary to operate a small scale farm. Your membership in our CSA helps Iowans with autism become more independent and productive members of our community!
