The Pasture is a small pastured poultry farm and hatchery. We incubate CxR, (Cornish cross Rock), eggs from a reputable breeder. The chicks are shipped within NY state only. They cost $.90 each. There is a thirty day lead time on all chick orders since we only hatch for confirmed clients. Monday is hatch day giving us a weekly shipment of day old chicks in state.
We also raise some of the chicks for processing and sell them for $2.25/lb. dressed. We have been experimenting with organic feed as many of us lose faith in conventional commodities. Our long term goal is to have farm gate sales of poultry and in season veggies every week. The season finale is turkey and goose harvest in November. This year Bourbon Red turkeys and geese are offered at $4.00/lb. If there is sufficient interest conventional Broadbreasted Whites will be offered at $2.75/lb.
