The Rare Hare Barn

The Rare Hare Barn was founded in 2003, in response to our desire to find a higher quality meat product than was available in the stores. We wanted to have food that we could be assured of its quality. Our fryers are raised humanely and on grass whenever possible. They are fed a diet made from local grains custom made into pellets.

In 2006 we developed our own rabbit sausage, and our own seasoning recipe.

We have tube (package) sausage, and rabbit bratwurst, aka "Lapin Links" as well as whole fryers. Our fryers are fed a diet custom made for us.

Rabbit meat is the highest in protein and lowest in cholesterol of all meats. It's high quality makes it easily digestible. The loin is outstanding when grilled.
