Established in 1787, The Sachem Farm is located on the North shore of Lake Waramaug, in Connecticut's scenic Litchfield HIlls. Our acreage on Lake Waramaug has seen many forms of agriculture including, the raising of sheep, race horses, grain crops, tobacco, and in more recent years dairying, and grape growing. A portion of the farm is home to a registered flock of Bluefaced Leicester and Romney sheep, producing luxury yarn.
Our fiber is processed at The Still River Mill in Eastford, making it a 100% Connecticut product! Our farm is open for visits and sales by appointment. Please visit our website to read our farm blog and link to our Etsy shop. If you're interested in an extended visit to our beautiful area please follow the link on our website to our Farmstay B&B, The Sachem Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast.
Our family is thrilled in 2012 to be celebrating our 225th year farming! We truly appreciate your interest and support, and know you will be deeply satisfied while working with our yarn.
