Thousand Hills Farm is small grassfed-only herd in Loudoun County, Virginia. The herd is a formal commitment between two brothers to combine two herds together and move forward with direct-to-consumer sales of freezer beef shares. This combination formally brought forage-production and herdsman skills together into one small operation. We are hormone and antibiotic free!
At Thousand Hills Farm, we follow strict guidelines and principles in order to ensure that our customer can obtain quality grassfed beef raised and nourished with the finest locally-raised forages available. We truly believe that in order to have a high quality beef product on the plate, you must use high quality inputs. Our herd enjoys superior, locally-raised, perennial and annual forages in pasture, hay, and ensiled forms.
Anyone can turn a steer onto wild pasture and call it grassfed, but we take the extra step of ensuring that quality forage is the input that is key to growing top-quality grassfed beef. In fact, we often fool our butcher, who has often stared at a beef on the rail in disbelief that it was grassfed. We grow our own forages which are fed in pasture, hay, and ensiled forms. We use an organic kelp-based mineral supplement to make up for regional soil deficiencies.
