Tunis have a medium fleece which is suitable for a wide variety of knitted, handwoven and felted fabrics. It is easy to spin and felts well. Our Tunis are raised on grass in the pastures of our small family farm, and their lambs happily share their first clip of wool with us so we can share it with you. The lambswool is softer and cleaner than that of their parents, and it is processed into roving by local fiber mills.
We are a small family farm raising heritage Tunis sheep and lambs. Tunis lamb, known for its tenderness and mild flavor, is listed on Slow Food USA's Ark of Taste. Tunis sheep breed year round, so lamb is nearly always available.
