Small aromatic white flowers are borne in sprays on tall plants. Naturalizes easily. Medicinal: Pharmacological studies have reported that valerian root to be an effective tranquilizer and calmative without the side effects associated with Valium®. An improved strain of valerian selected for higher root yield, more uniform growth habit, and high essential oil content.
