Valley Run CSA

Valley Run CSA is a small farm in the heart of the Butter Valley, Berks County, PA. We run an unusual CSA - mixed diet, year-round, free choice . For a limited number of members, we grow all veggies you can eat, plus pork, chicken and eggs. We also offer memberships in beef, cheese, raw milk, and coffee. Members pick up weekly and - in grocery store style - take whatever they want and in whatever quantity - every week of the year.

We grow all our produce using organic practices and all of our meat is pastured and as happy as we know how to make it! We do not use any chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. We don't use GMO seed and all our feeds and supplements are organic and GMO free.

We are family operated - Tim and Krista Showalter Ehst are part of the 11th generation farming on the Ehst Homestead Farm in the Butter Valley. We are working to do what we can to de-industrialize agriculture and contribute to the growing movement of healthy, local food for all people.

I've lived in 4 states & been part of 5 CSA & this is the best one I've ever had!! Here's why:

It's year round: Most are a few months, this is all four seasons! Their produce still runs strong in the dead of winter!

Produce is free choice: Don't like corn? Then don't worry! You choose how much of which veggies you want!

Pay monthly: Instead of trying to come up with a large lump sum that can be impossible to save towards, I pay each month, making it affordable and convenient.... [more]
