Van Borc Farms is a joint venture between Tom Borchert, a 4th generation family farmer, and friend Virgil VanAsten. Located in the Fox Cities, near Appleton, Wisconsin, the farm has been in operation in the Borchert family since 1886. You can reach us by visiting our website at www.vanborcfarms.com, or by calling (920) 731-1179. Van Borc raises a rare breed of pork, unique to this region, a Heritage Breed known as Tamworth. Among the oldest breeds, the Tamworth has its roots in the United Kingdom, with less than 300 registered breeding females, and roughly 1000 known animals in the United States. Tamworths are naturally lean, having a high body mass without much actual fat, providing a healthier alternative to commercial pork while still maintaining terrific flavor.
