Veggies By The Sea is an emerging small family farm enterprise, started as an outgrowth of homeschooling by a mom and two of our three sons. We grow all our own produce using sustainable farming practices while considering the merits of transitioning to organic production. We believe in building the soil to feed our bodies and souls, working to provide wholesome and pure foods to our valued customers as we seek to sustain our own health through eating good food. Spring 2011finds us growing in soil that is responding like farmer's soil, as we keep working to understand crop rotation, using steel tractors (hoes!) to cultivate, and companion planting to keep the pests away. Featuring sweet peas and several varieties of beans as well as the three sisters (squash, corn and beans) while growing tomatoes with basil are some of the several 'experiments' we will continue.
