Vertical Horizon Farm

WINNER OF INNOVATIVE FARMER OF THE YEAR 2013 by University of Florida!

Inspired by the fine restaurants and chefs they have worked with for 20 years, farmers Natalie Parkell and Kevin Osburn are growing in a new direction - UP! Their small Hobe Sound farm is called Vertical Horizon Farm and features a very successful vertical, hydroponic growing system as well as other hydroponic methods. In a small space, Natalie and Kevin are able to grow up to 10 times the amount of produce in a given area compared with in-ground crops. Drip irrigation reduces water usage 85% over field watering, and getting the crops "out of the ground" allows the ability to manage insects and diseases without toxic chemicals. These organic, sustainable methods translate into safe, nutritious and delicious vegetables - brought to our customers usually within 48 hours of harvest and sold no further than 10 miles from the farm!

We are open at our farm stand on Saturdays and attend the Stuart Green Market on Sunday mornings. Stop by to check out our innovative farm located adjacent to the Sunshine State Carnations. During our growing season from September thru June, we offer over 30 varieties of vegetables such as: heirloom tomatoes, lettuces, swiss chard, beets, kale, spinach, eggplant, cucumbers, carrots, peppers, onions and micro-greens.
