Village Acres is a certified-organic family farm nestled along the banks of the Lost Creek in central PA (3 hours from Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC). We are a highly diversified 30-acre farm with about 15 acres in vegetable and berry production annually. We also grow cut flowers and raise pastured poultry and pork. It is important to us to sell locally, so our primary markets are a growing CSA (240 members in 2010) and a cooperative of small farmers that wholesales fruits and vegetables to restaurants and retailers in Washington, DC. We have a well-developed internship program for those who are seriously interested in exploring farming as a vocation, and hire up to four interns each season.
