Leicester Longwools are a rare heritage breed of sheep. They were re-introduced to the United States in 1990 by the Colonial Williamsburg rare breeds program. Color was reintroduced to America in 2002. We are pleased to have two colored Leicester Longwools in our flock. The color ranges from tan to chocolate brown to black and grey. The wool conforms to the traits of Leicester Longwool The fleece is long, heavy, with a spectacular luster. The fiber diameter and length is consistent, with deeply waved flat staples. Enjoy the natural color variation or try overdying to get those rich, deep, primative and colonial-style colors.
