Grazing Basics - sustainable pastures and grazing systems for all livestock

Do you have pasture? A Grazing Basics workshop focused on improving pasture and grazing will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2014 from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm at University of Illinois Extension Cook County, 2205 Enterprise Dr., Suite 501, Westchester, IL 60154. This workshop is for those who would like to gain basic understanding of what is in their pasture and how to manage it to get more forage during the year for any animal. It will provide livestock owners with information and tools that will help them increase productivity and sustainability of their pastures and grazing systems. Program topics include: principles of pasture management, grazing systems, increasing production, extended grazing and resources available to livestock owners. Cost for this program is $15 per person and includes lunch and handouts. Pre-registration is required by Friday, March 14, 2014.
