From our farms 10 years of growing this is what we believe is the ranking for flavor:
Lingularis (tropics only), Nancy Garrison, Fredricks and Pandora, Black Knight, and then lastly, any of the Edulis varieties which include for juicing only Maracuya (yellow) grown only in Florida. Also marketed as "Golden passion fruit". Equador exports it as a juicing quality only.
For first time customers: We grow our passion fruit vines completely sustainable - even the trellis are the remnants of our old lemon orchard. The vines are grown alongside and in between our avocado orchard and the sheddings of fruit, leaves and limbs from both the vines and avocado trees nurtures the other. This represents a huge savings in environmental issues with respect to groundwater and other resources. We have NEVER had to fertilize this combination of vine and trees - it is completely sustainable by the power of the sun alone. No pesticides, or fertilizers.
As we are all aware there is nothing more important to our health than clean water and clean land. Here at White Dove Farm we have dedicated ourselves and this land to that ideal.
