Kit and Cathy own and manage White Frost Farm, a small organic farm just outside Washingtonville Pennsylvania. They grow a variety of heirloom/specialty vegetables, dry beans, heritage wheat and rye which they mill into whole wheat or whole rye flour, and provide eggs from their free ranging laying flock, pastured poultry and free ranged pastured turkeys. New in this year pastured pork. All animals are fed organic grains from their farm or from local sources. An apple orchard was started in 2010 adding to the diversity of their small farming operation and is being managed organically. Kit and Cathy also grow corn, soybeans, oats, spelt, and emmer, which are grown to feed livestock. They offer some value added products, including an assortment of jams/jellies (their signature garlic jelly), Artisan sourdough wheat and rye bread, whole wheat flour, whole rye flour, puffed wheat cereal (plain and caramel) as well as a delicious whole wheat pancake mix all from their own wheat.

Kit and I are awaiting the arrival of spring as many of you are as well. Things are moving slowing on the farm right now, but it won't be long. We have onions started and some greens in the hoop house. Before we know it we will be in full bloom of Spring!
