We collected these wild strawberries from my husband's childhood farm in the Adirondack mountains of Upstate New York and brought them home here to Delaware to propagate them. We grow them under our blueberry plants in a raised bed and they are happy there in acidic conditions with lots of TLC.
The roots and leaves are used medicinally for diarrhea and urinary tract problems. The small berries are an explosion of flavor... a real treat. They may not produce berries in hot climates . We ship 3" plants - ready to start your own patch. Plant in acidic soil - well mulched and keep watered well until established.Keep thinned for best results .You will receive about 10 bare root plants
All of our seed offerings were grown here. We have been seed savers for 20 years. Our seeds are packaged in original art packets, hand folded with 100% recycled paper. Instructions for growing are not on the packs but are on the listing under seed template. Books on gardening as well as many catalogs carry general information on growing seeds. I am available by e-mail or phone to answer any growing questions as well. You won't find that service from many sources of seeds . The shipping on our orders also includes the processing and handling charges which is also less or equal to most seed companies. Remember we hand pack each order and drive from the farm to the post office to ship your order. I go every other day so I also have time to garden.
