Windflower Farm LLC

Windflower Farm is dedicated to growing gourmet-quality vegetables, herbs, fruit, cut flowers, and eggs for our CSA members and local chefs and markets. We use only sustainable practices, no chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers. Greenhouses, windbreaks and rock walls increase radiant warmth and extend the productive season. Crop rotation and the planting of flowers that attract beneficial insects ensure a healthy and vibrant ecosystem.

Our pastured livestock is AWA (Animal Welfare Approved) and includes Laying hens, Alpine dairy goats, and Tamworth-Cross Heritage pigs. Our pigs roam over an acre of organic, swine-specific forage planted especially for them and are humanely slaughtered on-farm. Our pork gets raves from the most discerning chefs. Our animals each make unique contributions to the farm, not the least of which is their ability to provide home-grown fertility that is carefully composted on-site.

Exotic and heirloom varieties of tomatoes, peppers and eggplants are offered alongside a wide array of heirloom and common vegetables - radicchio, fennel, lettuce, braising and Asian greens, beets, potatoes, carrots, peas, squash, onions, shallots, beans, and lemon cucumbers - the list goes on and on! We also supply our clients a steady supply of herbs including, tarragon, thyme, rosemary, sage, chives, French sorrel, parsleys, basils, dill, cilantro, lavender, savory and a wide variety of mints. Fruit offerings include melons, raspberries, strawberries, currants, rhubarb, apples and plums. In addition, we offer a seasonal Egg CSA. We pride ourselves on developing dependable relations with local chefs and markets.

We have a large variety of flowers to provide stunning fresh-cut flower bouquets for weddings, events, restaurants and store counters.

We are currently seeking an intern for the 2014 season. Horse-handling experience and/or interest or experience in goat dairy is helpful but not required.

We currently sell sustainable cut flowers to our local Whole Foods Market and are expanding our cut flower offerings. We also sell produce and cut flowers to restaurants and special events. We are eager to establish reliable, long-term relationships with local chefs and markets.
