Baskets can be brought into the garage or covered in leaves for winter protection.
I love these durable drought tolerant beauties. I have mixed containers all over the farm planted with sedum and sempervivums. Stonecrops happens to be one of those perennials that are very pretty even when they are not in bloom.
If the plants appear leggy and overgrown, chances are they might be getting too much water or too much shade. Being unpalatable to deer, it is a good choice where deer pressure is high. Easy to grow, Stonecrops also serves as a butterfly plant.
