The flowering tops of Wormwood have traditionally been used as a bitter, aiding digestion and the absorption of nutrients. Bitter apertifs, such as vermouth, once contained wormwood as a digestive stimulant. Wormwood, as its name suggests, has also been used historically for eliminating worms.
