We are a small farm raising grass fed Belted Galloway Cattle and grain fed pork. We have one or two animals per year that we offer to market. "Belties" are extremely lean and produce a very flavorful beef. Wikipedia describes the beef from the Belted Galloway as: "The USDA Cycle IV Germ Plasm Evaluation Program at the Meat Animal Research Center (MARC) showed that Galloway crosses placed at the top of the chart for flavor, juiciness and tenderness when compared to eleven other breeds."See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belted_Galloway for more information about this breed. They eat pasture grass during the growing season and top quality hay during the winter months. They are given a small amount of grain every day (about 2 cups each) which they simply love.

Looks like we will have a modest amount of beef available this fall. Mixed quarters and sides by the looks of it. The price will be $4.50 per pound "hanging weight". After being fully butchered and packaged that will work out to about $5.63 per pound. A quarter would weigh about 130 lbs (packaged). Don't hesitate to stop by and see how these animals are raised and treated. If you would like to know more, just drop us a line. Jack and Lynn
