We moved to my family's farm in 2011 because of a desire to start raising our own food the "wrightway". I inherited the farm after my parents died, and it had not been active for over a decade. This allowed us to pretty much start from scratch, garnering information from books, blogs and farm visits. Before moving down we established a garden for personal use and a couple of beehives, one of which was extracted from the northwest corner of the farm house. We'd enjoyed our produce and our honey, and expanded last year to include our first flock of laying hens and roosters, and our first batch of meat chickens and meat turkeys.
This year we are excited to offer eggs from chickens that are out on pasture, residing in our custom built "chicken wagon". They have full access to grass and bugs. We raise and butcher chickens and turkeys that spend most of their days on pasture in a chicken tractor. We also have seasonally pastured meat rabbits. Fresh produce is available in season, and we look to expand our meat animals by adding sheep and hogs in the near future.
We also offer honey and pollen as available. The bees are treated with only natural products.
We offer Pastured Eggs, Pastured Chicken, Pastured Turkey (Thanksgiving and Christmas), Meat Rabbits, Lamb, Honey and Pollen and Fresh Produce (in season) through on-farm sales. We raise Ark of Taste Buckeye and Delaware chickens and Tunis sheep.
