How to apply Feng Shui to the Organic Productive Garden

We always hear about Feng Shui and we find it mystical and only applied to homes offices and decorative landscaping. We imagine that it is expensive or uncommon to apply in the Organic Garden. But is it so?

I am not an expert in Design or landscaping but as a massage therapist and certified horticulturist I have explored and experimented with Feng Shui in my garden to explore how the CHI works in it.

Energy flows all over our cosmic world. So does it affect our garden, and how we feel while we plant and harvest and how the plants feel or  grow?

I have a mimosa planr from the Rain forest and it is a pet.Once you touch it it folds its leaves. So plants have feelings too! There are tons of info about Feng Shui at the internet and libraries, but how many apply or are aware of its influence at the productive Bio-dynamic garden?

To begin with , what is Feng Shui?Wikipedia defines it:" An ancient Chinese system of aesthetics beleived to use the laws of both Heaven and Earthto help one improve life by receiving positive QI" pronounced as CH-I .

Generally speaking ;it follows the POLARITY electro magnetic fields of the UNIVERSE responsible for the dipole of receiving or inserting vs giving or exerting energy, following the YIN and YANG theory. The end product is BALANCE or HARMONEY as applied by TCM using the Yin and Yang theory with  respect  to the human body.

Feng Shui uses the same principles of Yin and Yang , but in a different direction objective: It is applied to Objects and places instead, aligning buildings(a house structure for instance) or site ( a garden for example) .

It features the use of the FOUR DIRECTIONS, COLOR,DESIGN,PLACEMENT of OBJECTS etc..

The EAST direction represents the green dragon , Spring Soctise and the wormth  fire at  sunrise.

The South direction represents the red phoenix and  summer solstice and hot temperatures .

The West direction represents the white tiger ,autumn equinox and sundown.

The North direction represents the dark turtle, winter solstice and cold temperatures..

The Wikipedia qoutes the landscape ecologists and Environmental scientists who referenced Feng Shui use to the "Feng Shui Woods of Asia  it to the healthy homes ,Sustainability and environmental components" ..and stressed that it should not be easily dismissed when applied to BIODYNAMIC FARMING.

In a nut shell ,  I personally found the following guidlines benefitial when , basically applying Feng Sgui to the productive garden:

1-Introduce plants, objects, water, metals ..elementals ..to align energy of CH-I .For example, when using  along color, directions let it be coherent with the natural environment settings . Get  inspired by the Five Elements in determining the CH-I influence in the productive garden.

2-Introduce shapes and designs that are in concert with the elemental energies that might be lacking. Those shapes must be meaningful , useful , productive and NOT  just decorative.

3-Target introducing balance and harmoney to  the spiritual and physical setting by aligning it to the Universal and Cosmic objective natural law of attraction.Meaning do not just set it up according to the egoistic selfish needs instead.

4-Avoid destroying the natural setting of the environment to satisfy commercial landscaping bottom lines .

5-Use inspiration, intuition, and instinctive imagination.Awaken the inner vizualization .Experiment and be creative to a certain degree.Nothing is writen on stones ,but rather inscripted into our inner cellular blue print!
