Tangle Tree Ranch

On the way to Sustainability, one pice at the time.

Starting to seed.

Well, it is a bit early to start outside, but we are getting closer to the time when we start our first seeds in the house. We have in floor heat in the basement, so we have about 500sqft of heat mat. Not bad, but require some extra work. We use extra light and fans to help the plants along.

We are looking forward to this new year, new opportunities, new lessons learned and new plants. Our daughter still wants purple plants, so we will still grow produce with lots of colors. It is more fun that way.

We have increased our cattle herd, up to 12 female animals. The first one calved during Christmas, and those calf are growing, FAST.

Both the goats and the sheep are getting heavy with lambs and kids. But they will not start their birthing until the end of March. We like to wait until then, due to the weather, and the temperature.
