the blog about the blog

Trish decided to try and transplant some of our greens that were in seed flats, to our larger seed trays.  Trish attempted this feat two days ago based only on our personal knowledge of possible success.  I feel like its these experiences of trial and error that will make our first season one of the best seasons we could possibly have.  So with two dirty hands, one pregnant belly, seed trays, and spatula Trish successfully transplanted our arugala, without stressing the plants to death.  Our cabbage was done at the same time, as the arugala, which is really beginning to take on the larger seed plug, and will probably want the ground before we know it.

On to other news of Dilish farm:
Our farm will now be located in our backyard on an open plot along tbe turn-about.  We haven't been able to keep in touch with a man who had some land, so due to circumstances on both ends of the deal, my farm is now turning into an Urban Farm.  Several days ago we found a opossum family under the house which brought the landlord out so that he could lay traps. In the process he saw the greenhouse and told us that he was all for us having some laying hens. I will be keeping you updated on chickens and eggs if this is something we decide to try.

One last thing for you, I am trying out all possible venues, therefore have now started my first Twitter account @Dilishfarm.  So if you're interested in tweeting or following tweets look us up.
