Wow....It's Hot

Oh my.....the heat is already creeping in here in Central Texas and everyone is waiting for the rain that has been passing us by so far.

It is 87 degrees here today and very humid which makes it very uncomfortable to do anything outside.

I started cooling off the llamas & alpacas with the hose of cool water and they truly appreciate that.

All the herbs are growing very well I must say and I think I can already do some harvesting of quite a few :)

The processing of the freshly sheared Llama and Alpaca Fiber is going swiftly. Last night I finished 3 hats that are so awesome with multi colored yarn that I spun a few days ago. Stay tuned I will list thefiber items soon.

Today will be another fiber spinning day and I really feel like creating my cute shabby chic llama puppets.

I hope everyone is doing great on this wonderful Monday.

Enjoy yourself and the things you do :)

Yours truly

A Beautiful Sunday to All :)

Good Morning Everyone

Wow, it is Sunday already. Time is just flying by. I did not get to see the bright moon last night since we had some serious cloud coverage and I was hoping and praying that the rain will find us here on the Ranch. When I walked out this morning to let the alpaca boys out to roam I noticed that it must have rained since the driveway was wet, but I could not tell otherwise since it has not rained for quite a while and everything is so vey dry.

Well the weather forcast mentioned rain in the air for this week :)

Everything is growing so well and I am so pleased with all the fresh herbs this year. They all smell so amazing it makes me smile everytime I pass by the huge herb patch.

We added 2 new member s to our family last week.

Welcome Argus & Hera Peacock. Both are about one year old and absolutely stunning.

Thank you to Robin and Courtnee Benson from Sapaveco Ranches to bless us with a fabulous suri female Llama named Kissee. She is the sweetest girl ever and I can't wait to spinn her beautiful fiber.

You can check out pictures of our new additions on facebook. I will place a direct link below so you guys can check it out.

A very Busy Day on the Ranch :)

I hope everyone is enjoying this lovely day.

It is pretty warm here in Central Texas and I have been a "busy bee ".

Already the pasture clean up and fertilizing of the fields is complete. Fiber carded and spun, Floor Boards removed and I have been very busy putting my new chainsaw to the test.

Clipping the treet in the llama girl pasture so they will have more places to lay at when the summer heat arrives here in our beautiful hill county.

Hoping for rain.

It has been a very busy and productive day that is for sure.

Wishing everyone a blessed day.

Peace and Happiness

Winter is Creeping in Slowly in Texas

It is pretty nippy in the mornings for the last few days. The frost on the farm buildings is a reminder that it is the end of November and, yes, the winter is slowly creeping in. Although beautiful sun shining for most of the day makes it just wonderful to work on the land.

Today I have to work on my listings though, which means, computer work for most of the day. Lots more herb to list in powdered and capsule form.

Of course my breaks will be taken outside sitting with the llamas that always greet me and look forward to spending some time wit me as well.

Well, let the day begin, refill my cup of coffee and get hopping.

To all of you out there......I wish you a wonderful day.

Make a difference today as always, in someones life.

Yours truly

Petra :)

A Wonderful Harvest To All

TIme just seems to fly. The harvest is already upon us and finally we are blessed with wonderful fall climate. The sunrise and sunset is just breathtaking every day here on the ranch. Although our harvest is sparse this year because of the drought that we endured this summer, we are all working hard to use our resources and I let my creativity soar to find different ways to make our great fiber to amazing fiber art.

It is funny how one hurdle spurs so many different options if you are just open and in the flow of nature.

A wonderful harvest to all.

wishing you

Petra :)

Busy, Hot and Praying for Rain

It has been a very busy few days. Getting everything prepared for the Home & Garden Show in Austin Texas at the end of the month.

I started to bake homemade herbal critter snacks that my dogs and camelids enjoy very much. They are completely vegan, baked with lots of TLC.

It has been such a dry and hot summer this year. Everybody is praying for rain around here and it seems that we have a 30% chance of rain starting this evening all the way to Saturday.

Until then lots of cool shower from the bathroom form me and from the waterhose for the critters.

I wish everyone a great summer.

Howdy from Texas

Wow, it's a hot day again . The animals are all roaming around and pass by the water hose routinely so they can get their shower :)

I think I will stay home from the clinic tomorrow so I can care for my "children". With the weather up to 107 degrees they really like there showers.

Everything is getting so dry and watering is essential for all our plants.

Our Alpaca Gold Plant Elixir is brewing well in this warm weather :)

Wishing everyone a beautiful day
