For my garden, I built a structure out of material I had laying around my farm: metal beams, wood panels, cardboard, fencing, plastic panels. The structure is about 4 feet wide by 4 feet high by about 300 feet long. I designed it so it could be accessed from both sides for maintenance. I got some inspiration from the permaculture work of Sepp Holzer. I used a tractor to drag trees where I was building the structure and used the trees as "fertilizer". Hugelkultur reduces irrigation needs.
