Christmas planning in May!

It is May, and my daughter and I sat down to create a list of what we want to try to make for Christmas!  Our goal is to make at least one gift for each family member before the end of November, so we can spend December enjoying the Christmas holiday!   My husband and I have three children, two young boys that will need lots of assistance with their projects, and a very talented ten year old daughter who likes to sew, and create things!  This month we are focusing on the boys, and my daughter is going to make a hotwheels car holder that can hold eight cars, and when it unfolds it is a small play mat.  The holder will velcro together for easy handling for young hands.  Perfect for playing in the house or on the go.  My husband and I found some easy patterns online to create some chunky wood puzzles that stand up.  The tool needed is a skill saw, and the shapes we have decided on are the duck, and the cow.  Both looked to be the easiest to paint, as we are not gifted in the painting department.  I am going to make a twin size quilt for each boy.  My daughter also wants to make a crayon/coloring book bag for each of her brothers. She made one for herself last year, and the boys LOVE it!   Last on our boy list, we are taking pictures of our farm animals and creating a custom picture book with a rhyming story for the youngest, who will be two, and we are doing a 'I spy' type book by taking pictures of places in our house and farm for the older boy, who is three.  Shutterfly and Mixbook have done awesome books for us in the past, so we are excited about that project!

Anyone else making Christmas this year, and what are your ideas? I would love to hear your ideas!
