Joy of Organics Produce Buying Club

WHY A BUYING CLUB ??? We are a BUYING CLUB, we are not a CSA, (which requires large advanced payments in order to sustain the farm). We are not Amazon.com, (where you can order whatever you want whenever you want it), and we are not Whole Foods, (where you pay extremely high prices for produce that has been sitting around a lot longer). What WE DO is provide you a bi-weekly, farm fresh, bountiful variety of certified organic fruits and veggies at far below retail. When we order the produce we must order by the pallet and the case. The only way this group can work is if we have a steady number of shares every two weeks. This is the reason why the club is structured as it is, and the reason we offer a discount for repeating members. In the case where you are unable to pick up and are a repeating member, you have the following options: 1. You may find a substitute who will reimburse you and pick up your share. 2. You can donate your share to a friend who will pick it up. 3. We will donate the share in support of our community to the Broward Pantry (see blogs). The Broward Pantry is food bank which supports seniors raising their grandchildren. Each time I have visited, I see the shelves full of processed foods, the freezers full of -processed foods and the cooler is always empty. The last time we delivered a large amount of produce there, we were able to give it to a grand mom who is raising six grandchildren. She literally cried when she got fresh organic produce. We hope appreciate your support in this membership club. The only way we are able to provide the produce for the price we offer is to run it this way. While we have not changed the price of the share for more than eight years now, we did have to change the way things were running in order to sustain the group. We are not in a position to deal with peoples schedule changes and travels. We can certainly make arrangements if traveling for lengthy periods of time. http://www.thepantryofbroward.org/
