HayDay

Welcome to my blog! While I'm in here blogging away, my men are raking hay! Hopefully, no rain will come for a few days, so baling can commence.

Funny how on the farm, we can pray for rain for somethings, but pray for dry weather for other things.

Our gardens have seen plenty of rain, although it has been about 6 days since we had any significant rainfall, the soil is still moist and the plants seem to be enjoying the heat! Our lettuce and spinach are doing wonderfully, and the radishes are at about their peak.

Our grandnieces came by to visit and feed all the animals on Thursday. What fun! The chickens definitely had their fill of corn scratch, and Carrot the horse didn't mind the extra sweet feed either! Our newest additons, the mini cattle, Mini and Thunder, enjoyed sniffing at our nieces.

Weeding the gardens can be quite a noisy time! Not only were the songbirds singing, but the geese flying overhead were honking, the ducks were quacking, the wild turkeys were gobbling and the coyotes were yelping. Of course, our boys and dogs were making their share of noise too. Out here on the farm noises can be enjoyable! Can that be said of city living?

Until next time, enjoy getting dirt under your nails. God Bless!
