We are not among the small farmers that reject organic certification because of the perception that the USDA is trying to close down small family farms. Instead, we believe that THE SMALL FAMILY FARMER MUST SEEK ORGANIC CERTIFICATION IN ORDER TO PRESERVE ORGANICS. If the small family farmer abandons organics the only organic producers left will be big agribusiness. We've had six years on this farm raising an organic garden for our family but 2006 was our first year that we could call ourselves "farmers". We have a produce CSA for whom we raise certified organic produce. We have a passive solar and active solar building that is our farm office. We hope to add a certified kitchen in the office soon, so that we can produce value-added products that we can sell to restaurants and through retail stores. (The current legislation allows farmers to produce certain value-added products to sell directly to consumers. In order to sell to stores one must have a separate kitchen-not their home kitchen-that is certified through the health department.) We are developing a sustainable buying club in order to advance the formation of a community of people who are focused on sustainability in the greater Louisville area. Please Join us! We are members of Kentucky Proud! And, we are USDA Certified Organic. Earth's Promise Farm is a small family farm dedicated to sustainable farming practices. We produce pastured poultry that we take to a certified organic U.S.D.A processor. I tell people that pastured poultry isa step up from "free-range" . One friend says our chickens have only one bad day. Our chickens are put on the field as soon as they are old enough, and then they are moved often. We do not use the "chicken tractor" method, as this is a form of caged production and we wish to raise the most responsible food possible. They eat grasses and clover (they love clover) and bugs. They like wild blackberries, and they prefer the blackberry brambles to their tents for cover. These are happy chickens. We have had several customers, including the local food critic, say that our chicken is the best they have ever tasted! His words were "Infreakin'credible, best chicken I've ever eaten , bar none!"

I'm a crazy old racist. I don't understand that reverse racism isn't real. I don't understand that unless people have privilege over someone they can't be racist.... [more]
The woman who runs this farm Sandee has admitted on Face Book that she purposely gave a woman of color food poisoning. After reading that I would not trust her produce or anything she sells on her farm.

Have receipts for her vile comments and harassment. I'd suggest looking elsewhere for business she definitely doesn't deserve it after all.
