Grassroots Farm owned and operated by a mother and daughter team, Lindsey Morris Carpenter and her mother Gail is located in Green County, Wisconsin, 40 miles southwest of Madison, in the Driftless Area, a part of our state that was left unscoured by the glaciers. The countryside is rolling with a high view to the horizon at each hillcrest. Our neighbors operate primarily large acreage grass and dairy farms and row-crop ventures.

Grassroots Farm is Certified Organic by Midwest Organic Services Association (MOSA) and the USDA. We are a highly diversified vegetable, livestock, and cut flower farm, with a young hopyard and apple orchard. Grassroots Farm offers a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) share program, direct sales through farmers markets, limited sales to groceries and restaurants, and work-share opportunities to individuals and families near to the farm. Our fresh farm produce, available for sale in the 2014 season, will include over 75 varieties of vegetables, fruits, and common and rare fresh herbs. Our humanely raised animal products include naturally raised pork from local feed, certified organic free-range brown eggs, pastured chicken, turkey and goose, grass fed beef and lamb, and delicious honey.

In the midst of big agriculture we have established a new family farm on these 40 acres. Our agricultural goals are based on a small, diverse, closed circuit farm, similar to the farmsteads operated in our area 100 years ago.
