Hazon CSA of Lower Merion at Beth Am Israel

Penn Valley, Pennsylvania

Beth Am Israel is excited to once again host the Hazon CSA of Lower Merion! Hazon, which means vision, is the largest Jewish environmental organization in North America and it supports the first Jewish Community Supported Agriculture Programs in the United States. The Hazon CSA puts Jewish purchasing power behind small, family, mostly organic farms while at the same time creating a community concerned with Jewish life and values. Our Hazon CSA receives its produce from Lancaster Farm Fresh, a co-op of over 75 Old Order Amish farms. The CSA provides members with 25-33 weeks of delicious organic fresh vegetables with the option of 22 weeks of fruit, 20 weeks of flowers and 25 weeks of eggs. In addition, there is a weekly newsletter with articles pertaining to food and Torah, recipes and other information. Special programs are in the works this year including a trip to our farms, cooking demonstrations and more. We need to have at least 20 full shares sold in order to continue to have Beth Am Israel be a distribution point for the Hazon CSA of Lower Merion, so tell your friends and neighbors about this wonderful program. Applications are due by April 20. Please go to the website at www.bethamisrael.org for the 2012 application. If you have any questions, please email Lynn Gottlieb at lgottlieb@comcast.net.
