Our Objective: Sustain local producers and their laborers year round; Decrease the number of food miles from farm to table; Educate consumers about buying, storing and using produce during the winter; To give the growers alternative marketing opportunities; To provide an opportunity for farmers and people from all communities to deal directly with each other rather than through third parties, and to thereby get to know and learn from one another; and To enhance the quality of life in the greater Elgin area by providing a community activity which fosters social gathering and interaction.
