We are a family owned and operated registered Angus ranch that raises, feeds and markets our products conception to consumption, utilizing sustainable practices without the use of synthetic inputs. Our cattle are marketed locally as registered Angus seedstock and locker beef. We maintain a complete audit trail and full performance/carcass records on all of our animals. The cattle are finished on grass hay and a locally grown corn and flax based feed ration to maximize the omega 3 and CLA content of the beef. An extensive carcass data and careful genetic selection program ensures a delicious product that consistently grades USDA Choice. Our beef is raised without added hormones or antibiotics and is dry aged for tenderness. It is processed locally, keeping food dollars in the local economy. We employ a rigid herd health program to maximize the natural immune system of our animals. Our operation strives to reduce "food miles" traveled and to provide a premium product at affordable prices to our local community. 7 Bar Heart has won many state, regional and national awards for our sustainble production practices, including the Land Stewardship Awards of the American Angus Association and Farm Journal magazine and the Sustainable Agriculture Award of Alternative Energy Resources Organization (AERO). Our family was recognized as Outstanding Agriculturalists of 2001 by Montana State University. We are devoted to raising healthy food under practices that optimize the health of the soil, water, air, wildlife and our cattle. Extensive performance records help us to select for the most efficient animals that make the best use of our precious enviromental resources. By marketing locally and eliminating synthetic inputs, our operation is able to markedly decrease the use of petroleum products and to reduce our carbon footprint.
