Amen Ankh Grows "Electric Fresh", Local, Org-Ankh Foods! We sprout our veggies and seeds for salads and nutritional drink packs! You can join our food club to order foods grown by local urban farmers. Pick-up or deliver on Thursdays and Fridays! A?A? We also deliver Fresh Fruits, Sprouts, Veggies and Herbs everyday for Businesses, and restaurants. We support neighborhoods in Kansas City's CSA's Community Supported Agricultures, Religious and educational institutions.
Amen Ankh Urban Farm grows local foods, delivers and landscapes healthy garden spaces for our Seniors and those with disabilities. We promote the development of healthy-eating attitudes and behaviors for our youth. The farm aims at increasing nutritional knowledge for Kansas City students, awareness of food ecosystems, and environmental sustainability through project-based, hands-on educational programs. We lower our carbon footprint by localizing consumption and following environmentally sustainable farming practices, to educate our own children to be leaders in/for our own cultural ways of live, instead of leaving our neighborhoods.
Using Local indigenous Herbs, Fruits and plant life (Three Sisters: Corn, Beans, and Squash) and cruciferous vegetables like, Cabbage, Kale, with Sprouts, Herbs like Basil, Sage, Chives, Rosemary, Parsley, Peppers and other nutritional drinks, liniments, vinegars -Baked Goods, cosmetics, for Healing. Through the inspiration of Kujichagulia (Self-determination) Our Urban Farming Motto-- "The first step to free ourselves is to feed ourselves!!!" The Mission of Amen Ankh Urban Farm is to establish Asar's Mandate: Global production, promotion, and perpetuation of food resources and comfort - The Amen Ankh Farms grows, prepares, and sells local healthy Indigenous Foods in environmentally, respected, earth gentle ways, to restore balance in our relationship with the cosmos, earth and our communities and by increasing awareness of nourishment, environment and health. We honor the traditional teachings of our Indigenous Ancestors. We restore respect for the blessings of food, soil, water, and air that we must have to ensure a healthy life for our seeds (the next generation) Amen Ankh Farm aspires to protect the environment. To live in harmony in sustainable Ecosystems with this planet. We are recyclers and composters using vermiculture for the richest supply
Our bodies are the temple of our soul, mind & spirit. Like any spacesuit, we must care for and maintain our body for our existence on this planet.
We practice Permaculture. Permaculture are principals that takes care of people, animals and the earth. This supports the environment and all Nature who lives in it. We have been doing healing work, Growing Herbs, Making Foods, and Teaching STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Vocational Arts and Mathematics) education classes for over 40 years. We share a vision to build a Natural Living Center (Par Ankh = House of Life) which will house a Food Production Center- of Aquaponics, A?A? Cultural Arts School, and a Shrine Temple dedicated to living powerfully with creation, with alternative and traditional healing.A?A? - People are encouraged to be entrepreneurs and economically sustainable by creating home cottage industries by growing foods right at their homes, and in soil tested vacant lots, and community sites- "Where anyone can sell a tomato to their neighbor." Owned by our Urban Farmer Youth, Managed by Sasteh Meter Mosley, a Cherokee American, and Adenike AmenRa Executive Director, a Natchez/ Tutsi American- Most Native cultures integrate spiritual beliefs with healing, health, and wellness. Wellness is where the individual has harmony or balance with oneself, mind, body, and spirit, harmony with others and his/her surroundings or environment. Illness comes in when harmony or balance is broken. This belief system recognizes how spiritual and emotional turmoil can lower one's defenses against illness.
