CSA: Anchor Ranch Farm

Our meat CSA starts in June and runs the full year through the following May. Box contents are seasonal and include roaster chickens in summer and fall, lamb in winter and spring, pork year-round, and usually a roaster duck in the fall and spring.

We cannot deliver door-to-door but you can pick up shares once a month from freezers hosted at several locations in Portland, in West Linn, Salem, on the farm in Scio, or ask us about adding a location. Picking up at the Albany Farmers market in summer is also possible.

The share is ten (10) pounds each month of a seasonal selection of whole and half chickens, lamb, and pork cuts from our farm.  All animals are raised naturally outdoors on pasture and in the forest and USDA processed by local butchers.  

An example share might include a 5 pound chicken, 1 pound of country-style bacon, and 4 pounds of bone-in pork chops. Or a share might include a 3 pound lamb roast, 2 pound of ground lamb, 1 pound of breakfast sausage, and a pork shoulder roast.  Contents are highly seasonal.

All members are entitled to your choice of extras like soup bones and organ meats, at no additional cost.

In general we do not make substitutions, but sometimes we can accommodate dietary needs and food allergies.  Ask us and we will do our best.

You can join anytime we have an opening, but we do value the share based on a full year and not month-to-month, so you will not get the full value if you join late. We also invoice 3 months in advance starting in March, (March invoice pays for June share), so late starts will see some larger invoices until you catch up.  We cannot afford, on our own, to cover the up front cost of adding you as a new member.

"Full cost share": $140 per month before discounts.  Includes some variety of sausage, bacon, or ham each month, half and whole roaster chickens, and generally more of the "nicer" (more expensive) cuts of lamb and pork. 

"Basic share: $120 per month before discounts.  Whole chickens only, as much variety of pork and lamb cuts as we can manage while giving preference to the full share subscribers, and might include ground pork but generally does not include sausage or bacon.

We offer a 10 percent discount for families raising children or expecting.  We also offer a discount for picking up your own share at the farm each month.
