We are a family owned orchard primarily offering pick your own apples, peaches, raspberries, and pumpkins. We grow all of our own produce and sell only what we grow: 20 varieties of apples, 14 varieties of peaches, sweet corn, tomatoes, summer and winter squash, raspberries, blueberries (beginning 2010), cucumbers, eggplant, sunflowers, nectarines, plums, etc We make our own apple cider on the premesis. It is unpastuerized, no preservatives and ultra-violet light treated for safety. We have our own farm market, and attend many farmers markets in the state. We are third generation farmers. The farm has progressively evolved from a strictly wholesale orchard, until 1970 when John and Hazel Barden began to invite customers on the farm to pick their own apples. Since then, our customers have been coming back for years and now the second generation of customers are bringing their new families. Native peaches are in demand and we do our best to grow delicious, and juicy white and yellow freestone peaches. We meet our customers needs by planting what our customers want, and by choosing varieties for the best flavor and quality. Our farming practices include using the newest techniques to conserve our soil and water resources. We use Integrated Pest Management which involves scouting for pests, and encourging pest predators to control the unwanted pests. We only spray when necessary to control insects or diseases at the appropriate time, not by the calendar. We work with the UMASS and URI Extension Programs as well as receive information from Cornell regarding the latest techniques to safely raise our crops. In August, we are busy with vegetables, raspberries, peaches and Paula Red apples. In late September, we are very busy with peaches, sweet corn, a variety of vegetables, raspberries, Macouns, Macintosh, Gala, Honeycrisp and Cortland apples, APPLE CIDER and pumpkins. In late October we are busy with Crispin, Empire, Delicious, Granny Smith, Northern Spy and Fuji apples winter squash and pumpkins. Hope you come by and check us out!
