Think of the milk man. Doing his rounds early in the morning, the milk man dropped off bottles of fresh milk and picked up empty bottles left out by his customers. He provided a reliable connection between his customers and the local farmer. Snow Mountain Flowers works the same way. On Saturday mornings during the 2007 growing season (mid-May through mid-October), Snow Mountain Flowers will deliver attractive French florist buckets of locally-grown, pesticide-free cut flowers to subscribers in the Amherst, Northampton, and Greenfield areas. Subscribers will set out their empty delivery buckets and receive new flowers according to the delivery schedules they have chosen. Subscription options are available for delivery once a week, once every other week, or once a month. Please see the Snow Mountain Flowers website for details. This year, flower delivery will begin in mid-May, with the exact starting date determined by growing conditions. Subscribers will receive an e-mail letting them know when to expect their first round of flowers. From May through early September, the flowers will be fresh cut. In late September and early October, the flowers will be dried – giving subscribers bouquets that will last throughout the winter.
