We're readying the farm for our 12th Annual Pumpkin Festival, coming in just a few short weeks! Dates for 2016 are Oct. 1-30. We will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day besides Fri. Oct. 7, when hours will be 1-6 p.m. Field trips are being booked during the week and we have several dates available for private evening campfire parties. These are great for clubs and groups (Scout groups, church groups, special-interest club outings, etc.) of family get-togethers! Check out the Parties and Schools pages on our website for more information
At the current time our pumpkins are growing well and we are expecting to have the U-pick patch open as usual. Last year we experienced a very strange wet and cool growing season. The pumpkins didn't like that one bit, and fungus, diseases and pests contributed to a total crop failure in our U-pick patch. We're keeping a close eye on it and don't see any problems so far (other than some weeds, of course -- those buggers are relentless!)
One fun addition for 2016 will be the Giant Pong game. This is a huge beer pong-type game using big red trash cans and a volleyball. It will be fun for all ages and will join ladder golf and corn hole in our family game yard.
Well, better get back outside to our painting projects. Its hard to believe it's been 8 years since we moved the old one-room Center Hill schoolhouse to the farm. The red paint has taken a beating so is getting a fresh coat. We're always working to keep the farm maintained and enjoyable for all our visitors and can't wait for you to see what's in store for this season. See you soon at the farm!
